THE BASE SYSTEM The base system includes one CPU, one pump, two filters, one battery, one five gallon propane tank, one enclosure, four perimeter sprinklers, four telescoping risers, one roof mounted sprinkler concealed in faux roof pipe vent, 60 feet of pipe above ground and 200 feet underground and all required pipe fittings.

System components detail:

CPU The central processing unit is comprised of an industrial programmable logic controller. This very robust computer is commonly used to control robots and assembly lines in factories throughout the world. They are very rugged and built for dependability. The CPU monitors the fire sensors and if fire is detected starts and controls the running of the pump engine. The CPU is powered by an industrial battery that is maintained by charger, which is connected to the house power. The battery delivers all power necessary to monitor the system and start the pump engine in the event of a power outage. The system is completely independent.

SENSOR NETWORK The sensor network may contain wired and or wireless sensors to monitor for fire in the areas adjacent to the property being protected. The wireless sensors can be deployed at great distances from the property to provide early detection of an approaching firestorm.

WATER PUMP The water pump is driven by a propane-powered engine. The engine was designed to run on propane because it is a very clean fuel that can be stored indefinitely and can be relied on. Unlike gasoline, which separates in the engines fuel system and gums up so that the engine will not likely start when needed. Electric pumps of this size are cost and size prohibitive and will not run if the power is out, which is often the case during a firestorm. When a pool is used as the water source the suction side of the pump is connected to the existing pool piping with isolation valves to prevent either system from interfering with the other. If the FPFPS system is in operation the existing pool pump is disabled.

SPRINKLER The sprinklers are completely concealed below ground or roof surface when not in operation. Each sprinklers location and height is engineered specifically for the intended application. A unique telescoping riser achieves the sprinklers height. The risers can be made for any height requirement.

FILTER ELEMENTS Each pump has two filters. One pre-filter before the pump to prevent large debris from plugging the pump. One post filter to prevent smaller debris from plugging the sprinklers.

THE SYSTEM ENCLOSURE The system enclosure has been designed to house and protect the system components from the elements. Currently we offer three types of enclosures the first two are made of sheet metal. One is brushed stainless steel and the other is powder coated in white or beige. The third option is a faux rock that actually looks like a real rock, with realistic texture and shape. This option can house your system in the middle of your landscaping without being an eyesore!
